A proud Yorta-Yorta and Kalkadoon woman, Miss Kaninna was born and raised in lutruwita/Tasmania.
Hailing from a strong family of performers, artists and creators, Miss Kaninna carries forward the line of storytelling from the past, to the future. Through her music, she boldly shares the blak experience of a young woman, in so-called Australia.
Bringing her musical theatre and improvisation experience to the stage, Kaninna possesses a captivating live energy that honours her heritage and community. Cast as Cynthia, the lead role in The Sapphires national tour, she is no stranger to performing and was accepted into the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) for Aboriginal Theatre.
Having recently debuted new music with her band, wowing audiences at this year's DARK MOFO festival, Miss Kaninna is ready to take centre stage.
